Golden Eagle Art Gallery is pleased to offer an extensive collection of world-renowned artworks by Canadian wildlife artist, Robert Bateman.  World-travelled and well versed, Bateman always tells a great story about each of his creations. Here is what he has to say about this piece: 

"I feel very fortunate to have had several opportunities to spend time with Jane Goodall when she has visited. More than once she has asked me why so few artists, have ever painted chimps. Before I did my chimp painting, I wanted to experience them in the wild and to see their habitat. The Mahale Mountains have been set aside as a park and are still in a virtually pristine state. I chose a subdued green, filtered light to symbolize their forest world. I tried to depict this group with dignity, yet with a sense of social relationship and family."
