"I have been charged quite often by lone bull elephants who were only bluffing. Although I never stood my ground to test them, I felt that their efforts were halfhearted bravado.  Even as I departed, I have seen them stop in a swirl of dust, tossing their heads and swinging their trunks to put me in my place."
