"This serigraph shows a marbled murrelet in winter plumage. Marbled murrelets are nearly too small to be noticed on the broad ocean, but their presence is announced by their long, plaintive whistle. I have always been fascinated by patterns in nature, particularly the dynamic abstract shapes of gently moving water."
